Indications
Unasal is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin and nails, including onychomycosis (nail fungus infection) and tinea (tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis). This medication works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, which results in the death of fungal cells. Additionally, it can be used in the treatment of fungal infections affecting other areas of the body as determined by the treating physician.
Composition
Each Unasal tablet contains 250 mg of terbinafine. Excipients: lactose, starch, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Unasal is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to terbinafine or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with active liver disease or a history of severe liver diseases. It should not be administered to patients receiving treatments that may affect liver function.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney or liver disease, as well as in those taking other medications that interfere with liver metabolism. Regular monitoring of liver function is recommended during prolonged treatment. In case of symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, jaundice, or abdominal pain, treatment should be discontinued, and a doctor should be consulted immediately.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
