Indications

Trayenta Duo is a medication indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It is used in patients who do not achieve adequate glycemic control through diet and exercise and who may require additional treatment with metformin and linagliptin. This medication helps improve glycemic control by acting on different mechanisms of glucose metabolism, which includes reducing glucose production in the liver and improving insulin sensitivity, as well as increasing insulin secretion in response to meals. It is especially indicated for patients who are overweight and require treatment that does not increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Composition

Each Trayenta Duo tablet contains 2.5 mg of linagliptin and 1000 mg of metformin.

Contraindications

Trayenta Duo is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with severe renal insufficiency, severe liver problems, lactic acidosis, or diabetic ketoacidosis. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless otherwise indicated by a physician.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with heart disease, pancreatitis, and in those who are being treated with other antidiabetics. It is important to monitor renal function before and during treatment, as the use of metformin has been associated with a risk of lactic acidosis. Patients should be regularly evaluated to adjust the dose as needed.

Store the medication in its original container, at room temperature, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
