Indications
Topamax is indicated for the treatment of epilepsy in adults and children over 2 years of age. It is used as adjunctive therapy for partial seizures, generalized seizures, and for the prevention of migraine attacks. Topiramate works by stabilizing electrical activity in the brain, which helps control seizures. It can also be used in the treatment of Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and other convulsive disorders. Its administration must be under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
Composition
Each Topamax tablet contains 25 mg of topiramate as an active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its absorption and efficacy.
Contraindications
Topamax is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to topiramate or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use should also be avoided in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless the physician deems it necessary and the benefits outweigh the risks.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of kidney disease, as topiramate is primarily eliminated by this route. In addition, blood bicarbonate levels should be monitored, as it can cause metabolic acidosis. The use of Topamax in combination with other medications is not recommended without proper supervision, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
