Indications
Thoreva Dual is indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia in patients who do not achieve adequate lipid levels through diet and exercise. This medication is used to reduce total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins), and triglyceride levels, as well as to increase HDL cholesterol (high-density lipoproteins). It is also indicated for the prevention of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.
Composition
Each Thoreva Dual tablet contains 40 mg of atorvastatin as the active ingredient, along with suitable excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
Thoreva Dual is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to atorvastatin or any component of the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of active or persistent liver disease, nor in pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is also contraindicated in patients with elevated transaminase levels exceeding three times the upper limit of normal.
Precautions
Caution is recommended when administering Thoreva Dual to patients with a history of muscle diseases or those with factors that may increase the risk of myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. Regular monitoring of liver transaminase levels and renal function is important during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, in its original packaging to protect it from light and moisture.
