Indications
Terramycin (Oxytetracycline) is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to oxytetracycline. These infections may include, but are not limited to, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and some gastrointestinal infections. It is also effective in the treatment of certain chlamydial infections. It is recommended to use this medication under proper medical supervision to ensure the correct choice of treatment, considering the patient's clinical profile and the microorganism's susceptibility.
Composition
Each Terramycin pill contains: 125 mg of oxytetracycline as active ingredient, plus excipients that facilitate its administration and absorption.
Contraindications
Terramycin should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to oxytetracycline or other tetracycline class antibiotics. It is contraindicated during pregnancy, lactation, and in children under 8 years of age due to the risk of tooth staining and bone development alterations.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with kidney or liver disease, as well as in those taking anticoagulants or with a history of lupus erythematosus. It is important to perform medical monitoring during treatment to avoid adverse effects and ensure therapeutic efficacy.
