Indications
Supradol is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe acute pain, including postoperative pain and pain associated with surgical procedures. It is also used in the management of pain in cancer patients, as well as in acute painful conditions in adults. Its analgesic action is based on the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, which are chemical mediators that contribute to the sensation of pain and inflammation. Supradol is particularly effective for pain relief in situations requiring rapid analgesic intervention.
Composition
Each Supradol tablet contains 10 mg of Ketorolac tromethamine as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
Supradol is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to ketorolac or any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe renal insufficiency, and in those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Its use is contraindicated in patients who have received other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or in those with bleeding disorders.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Supradol to patients with a history of asthma, liver disease, or cardiovascular disease. Renal function should be monitored in patients receiving prolonged treatment. The use of this medication should be carefully evaluated in elderly adults, as they may be more susceptible to adverse effects. Furthermore, concomitant use with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants should be avoided without medical supervision.
