Indications
Solucaps (Mazindol) is indicated as a therapeutic for the treatment of obesity in patients requiring weight reduction. Its use is intended to complement a weight reduction program that includes diet and exercise. It is indicated for adults and can be used in cases where obesity poses a health risk. Mazindol acts as an appetite suppressant, helping to control food intake and, therefore, facilitate weight loss.
Composition
Each Solucaps capsule contains 2 mg of mazindol as the active ingredient. Excipients and additional components are present in adequate amounts to ensure the stability and efficacy of the medication.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to mazindol or any of the formula's components. Likewise, it should not be used in patients with severe cardiovascular diseases, uncontrolled hypertension, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, or in those who are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of substance abuse, as this medication may have a potential for dependence. Regular medical follow-up is important during treatment to evaluate the response and tolerance to the medication. It should not be administered in combination with other weight control medications without proper medical supervision.
