Indications
Slender (Orlistat) is indicated for the treatment of obesity in adults. It is a medication that acts as a gastrointestinal lipase inhibitor, which reduces the absorption of fats in the intestine. This medication is indicated as part of a comprehensive weight loss program that should include a hypocaloric diet and regular exercise. Slender can be used in patients with a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 30 kg/m², or BMI greater than or equal to 27 kg/m² in the presence of comorbidities associated with obesity such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or dyslipidemia. Its use is recommended for a limited period and under medical supervision.
Composition
Each Slender capsule contains 120 mg of Orlistat as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Slender is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Orlistat or any component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with chronic malabsorption syndrome, cholestasis, and in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Its use is not recommended in patients under 18 years of age.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders or in those taking medications that may affect nutrient absorption. Regular medical follow-up is important during treatment to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the medication. Additionally, a nutritional status assessment of the patient is recommended.
