Indications
Sitagliptin/Metformin is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This medication is used in combination with diet and exercise to improve glycemic control. It can be used alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetics, as well as in patients who do not achieve adequate blood glucose control with metformin alone. Sitagliptin acts as a DPP-4 inhibitor, which increases incretin levels, hormones that help regulate insulin and decrease glucose production in the liver. Metformin helps reduce hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Sitagliptin 50 mg and Metformin 850 mg. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, severe renal insufficiency, lactic acidosis, history of acute pancreatitis, and in patients with conditions that may predispose to dehydration or reduced intravascular volume.
Precautions
It is important to monitor renal function before and during treatment, especially in patients over 65 years of age. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of pancreatitis. The administration of this medication should be evaluated in patients with cardiovascular diseases, infections, or situations of physical stress. Careful monitoring is recommended to detect signs of hypoglycemia, although it does not cause this effect by itself.

Store in a dry and cool place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
