Indications
Riastap is indicated for the treatment of patients with fibrinogen deficiency, including those with afibrinogenemia or hypofibrinogenemia. This medication is used in clinical situations requiring the restoration of adequate fibrinogen levels for proper blood clotting. It is recommended in cases of severe hemorrhages where fibrinogen levels are critically low and in surgical or invasive procedures in patients with coagulation disorders. Additionally, Riastap can be used to prevent or treat hemorrhages in patients with hematological disorders related to fibrinogen deficiency.
Composition
Each Riastap vial contains a lyophilized powder of human plasma-derived fibrinogen, which is reconstituted with a sterile solvent before administration. The concentration of fibrinogen, as well as the excipients used, are specified in the product leaflet.
Contraindications
Riastap is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its components or to human plasma-derived products. Its use should also be avoided in patients with coagulopathies unrelated to fibrinogen deficiency.
Precautions
It is important to monitor fibrinogen levels in patients during treatment. Caution should be exercised in those with a history of thrombosis or cardiovascular diseases, as fibrinogen administration may increase the risk of thrombotic events. Regular coagulation tests are recommended, and the dosage should be adjusted as needed.
Storage
Riastap should be stored in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
