Indications
Quimara Cream 5% is used in the treatment of various dermatological conditions, including the management of external genital warts and actinic keratosis. Imiquimod's action is based on its ability to modulate the local immune response, which promotes the elimination of neoplastic cells and improves skin health. It can also be used in the treatment of superficial basal cell carcinoma, where a favorable response has been observed in multiple clinical studies. This medication should only be applied to the affected skin, following the prescribing physician's instructions to ensure its effectiveness and safety.
Composition
Each gram of Quimara Cream 5% contains 50 mg of imiquimod as the active ingredient. Excipients: purified water, cetostearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, isopropanol, among others.
Contraindications
Quimara Cream is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to imiquimod or any of the formulation components. Its use is not recommended in skin areas affected by viral, bacterial, or fungal infections, as well as during pregnancy and lactation, unless under strict medical supervision.
Precautions
It is important to avoid sun exposure in treated areas and use sun protection. Caution should be exercised in patients with autoimmune diseases, as well as in those receiving immunosuppressive treatments. It is recommended not to apply to open wounds or irritated skin. In case of severe adverse reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature (between 15 and 30 °C). Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date shown on the package.
