Indications
Profenid IM is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation in various conditions, including but not limited to:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
- Dysmenorrhea
- Postoperative pain
- Sports injuries
- Acute pain of various origins
Ketoprofen works by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, which contributes to the reduction of inflammation and pain relief.
Composition
Each Profenid IM ampoule contains 100 mg of ketoprofen as an active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Profenid IM is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergy to ketoprofen or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is also contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer, severe renal insufficiency, and in those with coagulation disorders.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using this medication in patients with gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, hepatic, or renal diseases. Continuous medical supervision is recommended for elderly patients or those taking other medications that may interact with ketoprofen.
