Indications
Procoralan (Ivabradine) is indicated for the treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris in adults, as well as for the treatment of chronic heart failure in patients with reduced ejection fraction. Ivabradine works by reducing heart rate by inhibiting the If ionic current in the sinus node, which helps to decrease myocardial oxygen demand and improve exercise tolerance in angina patients. Additionally, in the case of heart failure, it helps to improve quality of life and reduce the risk of hospitalization due to cardiac decompensation.
Composition
Each tablet contains 7.5 mg of Ivabradine as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Procoralan is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ivabradine or any of the excipients. It should not be used in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency, severe bradycardia, sick sinus syndrome, or untreated second and third-degree atrioventricular block. It is also contraindicated in combination with certain medications that significantly inhibit the CYP3A4 enzymatic system.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with moderate renal insufficiency, as well as in those with associated heart conditions or those being treated with drugs that may induce bradycardia. Heart rate should be monitored regularly during treatment.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep in its original packaging and out of the reach of children.
