Indications
Primogyn 1 mg is indicated for the treatment of disorders related to estrogen deficiency, such as: vasomotor symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes and night sweats; urogenital atrophy associated with menopause; and as hormone replacement therapy in postmenopausal women. It is also used in combined hormonal contraception, where the administration of a progestogen together with an estrogen is required. This medication may be beneficial in situations of hypogonadism or in specific fertility treatments.
Composition
Each Primogyn tablet contains 1 mg of estradiol valerate as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients that facilitate the formulation of the product.
Contraindications
The use of Primogyn is contraindicated in patients with a history of venous or arterial thrombosis, breast cancer or estrogen-dependent cancer, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, severe liver diseases, and in cases of hypersensitivity to any of the medication's components. Its use during pregnancy is contraindicated.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in women with a family history of breast cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, and in those who smoke. Regular medical monitoring during treatment is important, especially in patients with risk factors for cardiovascular diseases.
