Indications
Prednisone is a corticosteroid used to treat various inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. It is indicated for diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, respiratory diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as severe allergic disorders. It is also used in the treatment of certain dermatological conditions, gastrointestinal diseases such as ulcerative colitis, and in the management of some types of cancer, as part of a chemotherapy regimen. Prednisone helps reduce inflammation and suppresses the body's immune response, which can be beneficial in the management of these diseases.
Composition
Each 5 mg Prednisone tablet contains: Prednisone 5 mg as the active ingredient. Excipients: Lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Prednisone is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to prednisone or any of the excipients. Its use is not recommended in systemic fungal infections and in some cases of viral or bacterial infections without adequate treatment. It is also contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcers or a history of recurrent peptic ulcers.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with hypertension, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases, infections, psychiatric conditions, and in those undergoing treatment with other immunosuppressive medications. It is important to adjust the dose in cases of renal or hepatic insufficiency.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
