Plantaben (Plantago Ovata) is indicated as an aid in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, especially in cases of occasional constipation. It is used to facilitate bowel movements in patients who experience hard stools or difficulty defecating. In addition, it can be useful in the prevention of hemorrhoids and in the relief of symptoms related to diverticulitis. The soluble fiber present in Plantaben helps improve stool consistency and promote more regular bowel transit. It can be considered in cases of a low-fiber diet or in patients who require an increase in their fiber intake for medical reasons. However, it is essential that its use be supervised by a healthcare professional, who will determine the most appropriate dose and duration of treatment for each patient.
Composition
Each sachet of Plantaben contains: Plantago Ovata, 3.5 g.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in cases of intestinal obstruction or in patients who have difficulty ingesting liquids, as well as in those who suffer from diseases that may be aggravated by fiber intake, such as certain types of irritable bowel syndrome.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Plantaben in patients with pre-existing medical conditions that affect intestinal transit. It is advisable to ensure adequate hydration when using this product, as insufficient fluid intake can increase the risk of intestinal obstruction.
