Indications
Octalbin is indicated for the treatment of patients with hypoproteinemia, including those with nephrotic syndrome, hepatic cirrhosis, and severe burns. Additionally, it is used in volume replacement procedures in situations of hypovolemic shock, as well as in the preparation of solutions for peritoneal dialysis. Its use is indicated in situations where rapid intravascular volume expansion is required and in patients with diseases that cause a decrease in plasma proteins, thereby improving oncotic pressure and tissue perfusion.
Composition
Each 50 ml of Octalbin contains: Human Albumin 25 g, in sterile saline solution, adjusted to physiological pH. The product contains no preservatives or additives.
Contraindications
Octalbin is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to human albumin or any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with volume overload or pulmonary edema, as well as in conditions where the administration of additional volume is not appropriate.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with heart failure, hypertension, or conditions that predispose to volume overload. It is advisable to monitor electrolyte levels and renal function during treatment. Administration should be carried out by qualified medical personnel and in controlled environments to avoid adverse reactions.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Protect from direct light. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
