Indications
Nyquil Z is indicated for the temporary relief of symptoms associated with colds and allergies, such as nasal congestion, sneezing, itchy nose or throat, and cough. It can also be used to help relieve flu symptoms, promoting better nightly rest and reducing discomfort derived from these processes. Diphenhydramine, a first-generation antihistamine, acts by blocking histamine receptors in the body, which helps reduce allergic response and soothe irritation symptoms.
Composition
Each Nyquil Z capsule contains 25 mg of diphenhydramine as the active ingredient. In addition, it contains excipients such as starch, gelatin, and other components that facilitate the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Nyquil Z is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diphenhydramine or any other component of the formula. It should not be used in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, or in those with severe respiratory diseases such as asthma or emphysema without adequate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver disease, heart problems, hypertension, or in those who consume alcohol, as it may potentiate sedative effects. Concomitant use with other medications containing antihistamines, sedatives, or tranquilizers is not recommended without prior consultation with a doctor.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
