Indications
Nizoral cream is indicated for the treatment of skin infections caused by fungi, such as: dermatomycosis, tinea, candidiasis, and other types of superficial mycoses. It is also used in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis and other inflammatory skin conditions where fungal involvement is suspected. The action of Ketoconazole is based on its ability to inhibit the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, resulting in their death or reduced growth.
Composition
Each 100 g of Nizoral cream contains 2 g of Ketoconazole as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that allow for the cream's formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ketoconazole or to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended for deep lesions or systemic fungal infections.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver diseases, as Ketoconazole is metabolized in the liver. It is important to avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. In case of irritation or allergic reaction, the use of the product should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. Prolonged use without medical supervision is not recommended.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
