Indications
Neo-Melubrina is indicated for the treatment of fever and pain of various origins. It is used in situations where an analgesic and antipyretic effect is required, such as in cases of postoperative pain, dental pain, renal colic, biliary colic, and fever associated with infections. Metamizole, its active ingredient, acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, which contributes to reducing pain perception and lowering elevated body temperature. Prior medical evaluation is important in cases of fever of unknown origin or in patients with pre-existing conditions that may complicate its use.
Composition
Each 5 ml of syrup contains: Metamizole Sodium 250 mg. Excipients: Purified water, potassium sorbate, flavorings, among others.
Contraindications
Neo-Melubrina is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to metamizole or any of its excipients. It should not be administered in cases of severe renal or hepatic insufficiency, or in patients with a history of agranulocytosis or hematological disorders. Likewise, its use is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless under strict medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of asthma, cardiovascular diseases, and in those who are being treated with other medications that may affect renal or hepatic function. Constant monitoring of hematological function is recommended in case of prolonged treatment. Avoid use in combination with other non-steroidal analgesics or anticoagulants without medical supervision.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
