Indications
Micardis Duo is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults. This medication combines two active ingredients: Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker. The combination of these two drugs acts synergistically to lower blood pressure and improve hypertension control. Its use is recommended in patients who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy. Furthermore, it is useful in preventing cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.
Composition
Each Micardis Duo tablet contains 80 mg of Telmisartan and 10 mg of Amlodipine as active ingredients. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, and talc, among others.
Contraindications
Micardis Duo is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Telmisartan, Amlodipine, or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency, as well as in those with severe hypotension and cardiogenic shock. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of angioedema, aortic stenosis, renal insufficiency, or in those who are receiving diuretics. Renal function should be monitored periodically. Likewise, it is important to evaluate blood pressure and adjust the dose as needed.
Storage
Store Micardis Duo in its original packaging, protected from light and moisture, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
