Indications
Metamucil is a product indicated for the treatment of occasional constipation and for improving digestive health. Its main component, psyllium, acts as a bulk-forming laxative, helping to increase stool volume and facilitate intestinal transit. Additionally, it can be used for managing high cholesterol levels, as psyllium can contribute to reducing LDL cholesterol levels, thereby promoting cardiovascular health. It is also recommended for cases of irritable bowel syndrome, where the goal is to regulate intestinal function.
Composition
Content per dose: Psyllium (Plantago psyllium) 3.4 g per tablespoon (approximately 8 g). Excipients: sugar, flavoring, among others.
Contraindications
Metamucil is contraindicated in patients with intestinal obstruction, difficulty swallowing, or those with known hypersensitivity to the formula's components. Its use is not recommended in patients with active inflammatory bowel disease.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal problems, such as chronic constipation or esophageal diseases. It is important to ensure that the product is consumed with sufficient liquid to avoid the formation of obstructions in the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, patients are advised to consult their doctor before starting any treatment, especially if they are taking other medications or have pre-existing health conditions.

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
