Indications
Lindeza (Orlistat) is indicated as an adjunct in the treatment of obesity in patients with a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 30 kg/m², as well as in those with a BMI greater than or equal to 27 kg/m² who present with comorbidities associated with overweight, such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or dyslipidemia. Lindeza works by inhibiting fat absorption in the intestine, which contributes to weight reduction and improvement of metabolic parameters.
Composition
Each capsule of Lindeza contains 120 mg of Orlistat as an active ingredient. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, talc, among others.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Orlistat or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with chronic malabsorption syndrome or cholestasis. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney disease, liver disease, or gastrointestinal disorders. Regular medical monitoring is important during treatment to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of the medication. Patients are advised to follow a balanced diet and an exercise program.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry and cool place, protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
