Indications

Keflex Pediatric is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to cephalexin, including respiratory tract infections, otitis media, skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections. It is effective against various strains of gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria. The use of Keflex Pediatric should be based on clinical evaluation and bacterial sensitivity, considering the severity of the infection and the patient's condition.

Composition

Each 5 ml of suspension contains 125 mg of cephalexin (as cephalexin monohydrate) and excipients: glycerol, xanthan gum, flavoring, and purified water.

Contraindications

Keflex Pediatric is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, penicillins, or other beta-lactam antibiotics. It is also contraindicated in cases of severe renal insufficiency, where dose adjustment is required or an alternative treatment should be considered.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of allergies, asthma, and gastrointestinal diseases, as well as those with moderate renal insufficiency. Adequate monitoring of renal function is important during prolonged treatment. In case of severe diarrhea, the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis should be considered and the medication should be discontinued.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep in a dry place and protected from light. After opening, consume within 14 days and discard any leftover.
