Indications
Januvia is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic medications, such as metformin or sulfonylureas, when glycemic control is not achieved with diet and exercise alone. Sitagliptin works by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, which results in increased incretin levels, thereby improving insulin secretion and decreasing glucagon release, leading to a reduction in blood glucose.
Composition
Each tablet contains 100 mg of sitagliptin. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, magnesium stearate, and others.
Contraindications
Januvia is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to sitagliptin or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, as well as in those with a history of pancreatitis. It is important to monitor blood glucose levels, as well as kidney function during treatment. Regular medical evaluation is recommended for dose adjustment if necessary.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
