Indications
Janumet is indicated as a complementary treatment for adult patients with type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise are not sufficient to control blood glucose levels. This medication is designed to be used in combination with other oral antidiabetic drugs or insulin in patients whose glucose levels are not adequately controlled. Janumet helps reduce glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and improve glycemic control in patients suffering from this metabolic disease.
Composition
Each Janumet tablet contains 50 mg of Sitagliptin and 500 mg of Metformin. Excipients are also present and are necessary for the formulation of the tablet, ensuring the stability and bioavailability of the medication.
Contraindications
Janumet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Sitagliptin, Metformin, or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in cases of severe renal failure, lactic acidosis, a history of acute pancreatitis, and in patients who present conditions that predispose to dehydration or hypovolemia.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with moderate renal insufficiency, liver diseases, or a history of pancreatitis. Regular monitoring of renal function and blood glucose levels is important. Janumet is not suitable for the treatment of type 1 diabetes.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, in a dry place protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
