Indications
Janumet is indicated for the treatment of adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to an appropriate diet and exercise to improve glycemic control. This medication can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin, as determined by the treating physician. Janumet is especially indicated in patients who do not achieve adequate blood glucose control with metformin alone, as well as in those who require combination therapy to optimize the management of their diabetes.
Composition
Each Janumet tablet contains 50 mg of Sitagliptin and 1000 mg of Metformin.
Contraindications
Janumet is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with severe renal insufficiency, severe hepatic insufficiency, diabetic ketoacidosis, precomatose or comatose state, and in patients with conditions that may increase the risk of lactic acidosis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of pancreatitis, kidney or liver problems, and those at risk of developing lactic acidosis. It is important to monitor renal function and adjust the dose according to the patient's renal function. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is recommended.

Store at room temperature (between 15°C and 30°C) in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
