Indications
Implanon Nxt is indicated for contraception in women of childbearing age. This etonogestrel-releasing implant provides an effective and reversible method of birth control. Its contraceptive efficacy is based on the inhibition of ovulation, changes in cervical mucus that hinder sperm penetration, and changes in the endometrium that prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg. Its use is recommended for women seeking a long-term contraceptive method who prefer to avoid daily administration of oral contraceptives.
Composition
Each implant contains 68 mg of etonogestrel, which is a synthetic progestogen. In addition, the device is composed of a biocompatible polymer that allows for the controlled release of the active ingredient in the body.
Contraindications
The use of Implanon Nxt is contraindicated in cases of known hypersensitivity to etonogestrel or any of the excipients of the implant. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular accidents, or breast cancer. Its use should be avoided in the presence of severe liver diseases, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, or during pregnancy.
Precautions
It is recommended to evaluate the patient's general health status before starting treatment with Implanon Nxt. It is necessary to consider the family and personal medical history of cardiovascular diseases. Women with a history of migraine, hypertension, or diabetes should be carefully monitored. Regular medical follow-up is advised during the use of the implant.

Store the implant in its original packaging, protected from light and at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
