Indications

Imation (Cefepime) is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections, including:

• Community-acquired pneumonia
• Complicated urinary tract infections
• Complicated intra-abdominal infections
• Sepsis
• Skin and soft tissue infections

This medication works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria. It is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. Cefepime is used in hospitalized patients and those requiring intravenous treatment due to the severity of their infections.

Composition

Each ampoule contains:

• Cefepime: 1 g
• Excipients: sufficient quantity to complete

Contraindications

Imation (Cefepime) is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or any component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency without adequate dose adjustments.

Precautions

Special care is recommended for patients with a history of penicillin allergy, as well as those with renal insufficiency, as dose adjustment may be necessary. Renal function should also be monitored during treatment. This medication can cause adverse reactions such as diarrhea, which may be indicative of pseudomembranous colitis, so treatment should be discontinued if severe gastrointestinal symptoms occur.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
