Indications
Graten is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain, and is frequently used in patients requiring intense analgesia, such as in situations of postoperative pain, cancer pain, or in chronic conditions that do not respond to other analgesics. This medication acts on opioid receptors in the central nervous system, providing a significant analgesic effect. It can also be used in palliative care to improve the quality of life of patients with terminal illnesses.
Composition
Each Graten ampoule contains 2.5 mg of morphine as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its administration and efficacy.
Contraindications
Graten is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to morphine or any of its excipients. Its use should also be avoided in patients with severe respiratory insufficiency, acute bronchial asthma, and in those who are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Likewise, its use is not recommended in patients with opioid dependence or in those with an acute abdomen without diagnosis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Graten to patients with a history of opioid addiction, lung diseases, severe renal or hepatic damage, as well as in the elderly or in those with conditions that may increase the risk of adverse effects. Constant monitoring is recommended during treatment to adjust the dose as needed.
Storage
Graten should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. The storage temperature should not exceed 30 °C. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
