Indications
Fresofol is indicated for the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia in adults and children. It is also used for sedation in patients requiring diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, as well as in intensive care units. Its use is justified in situations where rapid control of consciousness level is needed, as well as in patients requiring rapid recovery after the anesthetic procedure.
Composition
Each ampoule of Fresofol contains: Propofol 200 mg, excipients: refined soybean oil, glycerol, soy lecithin, and water for injection.
Contraindications
Fresofol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to propofol or any of the excipients. It should not be used in patients with metabolic disorders affecting fatty acid oxidation, nor in those with severe cardiovascular insufficiency or a history of severe hyperlipidemia.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of cardiovascular, respiratory, or neurological diseases. It should be administered with care in hypovolemic patients, as it can cause a significant decrease in blood pressure. Prolonged use in pediatric patients should be avoided due to the risk of central nervous system-related adverse effects.
Storage
Fresofol should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from light. The recommended storage temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
