Indications
Enbrel (Etanercept) is indicated for the treatment of various autoimmune conditions. It is primarily used in the management of rheumatoid arthritis in adults, as well as juvenile idiopathic arthritis in children aged two years and older. It is also indicated in the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in adults and in the management of psoriatic arthritis. Enbrel works by inhibiting the action of tumor necrosis factor (TNF), which reduces inflammation and improves symptoms associated with these conditions. It is important that treatment be supervised by a specialized physician who will evaluate the therapeutic response and the presence of possible adverse effects.
Composition
Each prefilled syringe contains 50 mg of etanercept, in addition to excipients that allow for the proper formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to etanercept or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in individuals with active severe infections, tuberculosis, or demyelinating disease, as well as in those with a history of severe allergic reactions.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of recurrent or chronic infections, as well as in those with autoimmune diseases. Regular monitoring for signs of infection is recommended, as the use of Enbrel may increase the risk of infections. Likewise, it is important to consider evaluating tuberculosis status before starting treatment.
Storage
Store Enbrel in its original packaging at a temperature between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
