Indications
Daxon Suspension is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by protozoa and helminths. It is effective in the management of diarrhea caused by Giardia lamblia and in infections by Entamoeba histolytica. Additionally, it has been used in the treatment of influenza virus infections and other gastrointestinal viruses. This medication acts as an antiparasitic, interfering with the parasite's function and promoting its elimination from the body. It is important that treatment is supervised by a healthcare professional to ensure proper dosing and patient follow-up.
Composition
Each 5 ml of Daxon Suspension contains: 100 mg of Nitazoxanide. Excipients: purified water, strawberry flavor, potassium sorbate, and other excipients.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to nitazoxanide or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic impairment due to the possibility of drug accumulation and adverse effects.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver and kidney diseases. Daxon Suspension should be used under strict medical supervision in pediatric patients and in those who are taking other medications that may interact with nitazoxanide. Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep in a dry place and away from direct light. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package. Keep out of reach of children.
