Indications
Dalvear SF is a medication indicated for the treatment of dry cough and productive cough associated with respiratory diseases. Dropropizine acts as an antitussive, helping to decrease the frequency and intensity of the cough. On the other hand, bromhexine is a mucolytic that contributes to the fluidification of mucus, facilitating its expulsion and improving breathing in patients with conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, and other pulmonary affections. This medication is useful in the management of symptoms of acute and chronic respiratory infections, providing relief in situations where cough and sputum production are prominent.
Composition
Each 100 ml of syrup contains: Dropropizine 160 mg and Bromhexine 300 mg. Excipients: sugars, flavorings, preservatives, and purified water.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in children under 2 years of age. In addition, it should be avoided in cases of active peptic ulcer and in patients with severe liver or kidney function problems.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with a history of asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is essential to monitor the patient's progress, especially in those with persistent or chronic cough. If symptoms do not improve, a doctor should be consulted to reevaluate the treatment.
