Indications
Comirnaty is indicated for active immunization against COVID-19 in children and adolescents aged 5 to 15 years. This vaccine helps prevent disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus by providing an immune response that reduces the risk of severe illness and hospitalization. Two doses are recommended, with an interval of 21 days between the first and second dose, to achieve optimal protection.
Composition
Each 0.3 ml dose of Comirnaty contains:
- BNT162b2 (messenger RNA) - 10 mg
- Excipients: disodium phosphate, monosodium phosphate, sodium chloride, sucrose, water for injection.
Contraindications
Comirnaty is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the vaccine components or any other component of the formulation. Additionally, it should not be administered to individuals with a history of severe allergic reactions to other vaccines or injectable therapies.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Comirnaty to individuals with a history of anaphylaxis to other medications or vaccines. It is important to observe patients for at least 15 minutes after vaccination to detect any adverse reactions. In case of severe adverse reactions, an appropriate action plan for their management should be in place.
Storage
Comirnaty should be stored in a refrigerator between 2 °C and 8 °C. It should not be frozen. The vaccine must be protected from light and used before the expiration date indicated on the package.
