Indications
Biogenfine (Morphine) is indicated for the treatment of severe pain, whether acute or chronic. It is used in situations where effective pain control is required, including the management of postoperative pain, cancer pain, and pain associated with terminal illnesses. Morphine acts on the central nervous system, altering pain perception and the emotional response to it, thus providing significant relief for patients suffering from severe pain.
Composition
Each Biogenfine tablet contains 30 mg of morphine as the active ingredient. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, starch, magnesium stearate, among others. It is recommended to review the package insert for complete information on excipients and their function.
Contraindications
Biogenfine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to morphine or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of severe respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea syndrome, or in patients with severe gastrointestinal problems such as paralytic ileus. It is also contraindicated in patients who are undergoing treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Biogenfine to patients with a history of addiction or substance abuse, as well as those with respiratory diseases, renal or hepatic insufficiency. It is important to monitor the patient's response to treatment, as morphine can cause dependence and tolerance. Dose adjustment is recommended in elderly or debilitated patients.
