Indications
Bactroban Cream is indicated for the treatment of skin infections caused by bacteria sensitive to mupirocin. It is specifically used in the treatment of impetigo, folliculitis, and other superficial skin infections. It can also be used for the prophylaxis of infections in surgical wounds and minor skin lesions. Its use is recommended in patients with infected lesions that require local treatment to prevent the complication of more severe infections.
Composition
Each 100 g of Bactroban Cream contains 2 g of mupirocin as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactic acid, cetyl alcohol, glycerin, among others.
Contraindications
Bactroban Cream is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mupirocin or any of its components. It should not be applied to deep wounds, extensive burns, or mucous membranes. Its use is not recommended in cases of infections caused by mupirocin-resistant organisms.
Precautions
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. In case of severe irritation or allergic reaction, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. Prolonged use is not recommended, as it could favor the development of resistant microorganisms. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of skin allergies.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
