Indications
Augmentin 12H is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to the action of its components, such as: upper and lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as urinary tract infections. This medication is useful in the treatment of mixed infections where the presence of beta-lactamase producing organisms is suspected.
Composition
Each tablet contains 875 mg of amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) and 125 mg of clavulanate (as potassium clavulanate).
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin group antibiotics, as well as to any component of the formula. It should not be administered to patients who have experienced jaundice or hepatic dysfunction related to the use of amoxicillin/clavulanate.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver diseases, as well as in those with renal insufficiency. It is important to perform adequate follow-up in case of prolonged treatment, due to the possibility of adverse reactions. Monitoring of liver function is suggested for prolonged treatments.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
