Indications
Alprazolam is indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and as an adjunct in the treatment of depression. This medication acts on the central nervous system, providing an anxiolytic effect that helps reduce the intensity of anxiety-related symptoms and improve the patient's well-being. Its use is recommended for patients with symptoms of generalized anxiety, panic attacks, and other related disorders that may interfere with their daily life. It is essential that treatment be supervised by a physician to assess the response and make adjustments as needed.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Alprazolam 0.5 mg as the active ingredient, as well as excipients such as lactose, starch, talc, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Alprazolam is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to alprazolam or any component of the formula. It should not be administered to individuals with a history of drug or alcohol dependence, as well as in cases of narrow-angle glaucoma, severe respiratory insufficiency, and sleep apnea syndrome.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney diseases, a history of depression or psychiatric disorders, and those undergoing concomitant treatments with other drugs that act on the central nervous system. Furthermore, prolonged use can lead to dependence and withdrawal syndrome upon discontinuation of treatment.
