Indications

Zymar is indicated for the treatment of ocular infections caused by bacteria susceptible to gatifloxacin. It is effective in the management of bacterial conjunctivitis, bacterial keratitis, and other superficial eye infections. Its use is recommended in patients with signs and symptoms of infection, as well as in those requiring prophylaxis in ocular surgical procedures. Administration should be in accordance with the treating physician's instructions, who will evaluate the need and duration of treatment based on the patient's clinical response.

Composition

Each ml of Zymar contains 3 mg of gatifloxacin, as well as excipients that promote the stability and efficacy of the product. It is important to check the complete list of components on the product packaging or in the leaflet.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to gatifloxacin or any other component of the formula. It should not be used in individuals with a history of serious adverse reactions to other antibiotics of the fluoroquinolone class.

Precautions

Special care should be taken when using Zymar in patients with a history of severe eye diseases, as well as in those with conditions that may predispose to adverse effects. Concomitant use with other eye drops should be avoided unless otherwise directed by a physician. In case of ocular irritation or adverse reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a physician consulted.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Do not store at temperatures above 25°C. Do not use the medication after the expiration date indicated on the package.
