Indications
Zonconax solution is indicated for the treatment of dermal infections caused by susceptible fungi, including dermatophytes and yeasts. Its use is suitable for the treatment of onychomycosis (nail infection), tinea (skin infection), among other superficial mycoses. Terbinafine acts by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, which results in the death of the fungus.
Composition
Each 1 mL of Zonconax solution contains 10 mg of terbinafine as an active ingredient. Excipients: purified water, sodium hydroxide, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to terbinafine or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver or kidney diseases.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Zonconax in patients with a history of liver disease, as it may affect liver function. Medical monitoring is recommended during treatment in these cases. In addition, contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided. If irritation or an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
