Indications
Zincolset is indicated for the treatment and prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy in oncology patients. It is also used in the management of postoperative nausea and vomiting. Its mechanism of action is based on the antagonism of 5-HT3 serotonin receptors, which helps reduce the central nervous system activity that causes these manifestations. It is essential to follow medical instructions for proper treatment management.
Composition
Each Zincolset tablet contains 8 mg of Ondansetron as the active ingredient, as well as the necessary excipients for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ondansetron or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with intestinal obstruction or in cases of QT interval prolongation syndrome.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias or those receiving other medications that may prolong the QT interval. It is important to monitor patients with hepatic insufficiency, as a dosage adjustment may be required. Likewise, pregnant and breastfeeding women should be carefully evaluated before administering Zincolset.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
