Indications

Xidor (Doxazosin) is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension. Additionally, it is used in the management of symptoms of benign prostatic enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia), alleviating associated urinary symptoms such as difficulty urinating, urinary frequency, and the feeling of incomplete bladder emptying. This medication acts as an alpha-blocker, relaxing the muscles in the walls of blood vessels and the prostate, which facilitates proper blood circulation and improves urinary flow.

Composition

Each Xidor tablet contains 4 mg of doxazosin as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the medication.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to doxazosin or any component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in those with a history of orthostatic hypotension, as well as in patients with severe hepatic impairment.

Precautions

Xidor should be used with caution in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, as it may cause hypotension. Hepatic and renal function should be assessed before starting treatment. Additionally, it is important to consider that the medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness, so caution should be exercised when driving or performing activities that require mental alertness.
