Indications

Xeloda is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, as well as in the adjuvant treatment of stage II and III colorectal cancer. It is also used in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer in patients who have received previous anthracycline and taxane therapy. Capecitabine acts by interfering with DNA replication and RNA synthesis, which prevents the growth of tumor cells. Its use must be evaluated and supervised by a specialist physician, considering the patient's clinical condition and response to treatment.

Composition

Each Xeloda tablet contains 500 mg of capecitabine and excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.

Contraindications

Xeloda is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to capecitabine or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with severe hepatic insufficiency, as well as those with a history of severe adverse reactions to antineoplastic drugs. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, coagulation disorders, or renal insufficiency. Regular monitoring of hematological parameters is recommended, as well as evaluation of liver and kidney function during treatment. It is important to inform the doctor about any concomitant medications the patient is using, as significant interactions may exist.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, in a dry place protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
