Indications
Vixgoplisol is indicated for the treatment of partial epilepsy with or without secondary generalization in adults and children from 4 years of age. It is also used for the treatment of myoclonic epileptic seizures in patients over 12 years of age with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. This medication works by stabilizing electrical activity in the brain and can be used as adjunctive therapy along with other antiepileptics.
Composition
Each Vixgoplisol tablet contains 1000 mg of Levetiracetam as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Vixgoplisol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Levetiracetam or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment without appropriate dose adjustment.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of psychiatric problems, as behavioral changes, including depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts, have been reported. It is important for patients to inform their doctor about any changes in their emotional state. In addition, monitoring should be considered in patients with a history of kidney disease, as a dose adjustment may be necessary.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
