Indications
Viravir is indicated for the treatment of painful diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and as adjunctive therapy for partial seizures in adults. It is also used for the management of chronic pain and, in some cases, for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorders. It is important that the use of this medication be supervised by a physician, as dose adjustment may be necessary depending on the patient's response and the condition being treated.
Composition
Each Viravir capsule contains 75 mg of pregabalin as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients such as starch, gelatin, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pregabalin or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use during pregnancy or lactation is not recommended without proper medical supervision. Likewise, it should be avoided in patients with a history of substance abuse.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Viravir to patients with renal insufficiency, as dose adjustment may be necessary. Patients should also be monitored for possible adverse effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness, or changes in mood. Abrupt discontinuation of treatment is not recommended, as it may precipitate withdrawal symptoms.
