Indications
Veraken (Verapamil) is indicated for the treatment of various cardiovascular conditions. It is mainly used in the management of essential arterial hypertension and in the treatment of angina pectoris, both stable and unstable. In addition, it is indicated for the control of certain supraventricular arrhythmias, including Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. Verapamil acts as a calcium channel blocker, which results in decreased myocardial contractility and dilation of blood vessels, contributing to the reduction of blood pressure and relief of anginal pain.
Composition
Each ampule contains: Verapamil 5 mg in 2 ml injectable solution.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to verapamil or to any of the excipients. It should not be used in patients with second or third-degree AV block, decompensated congestive heart failure, sick sinus syndrome, and in those with very low blood pressure (severe hypotension). It is also contraindicated in patients receiving concomitant treatment with oral beta-blockers.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in its use in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency, as well as in those with a history of bradycardia or heart block. It is important to monitor blood pressure and heart rate during treatment. Dosage adjustment is recommended in elderly patients or in those with conditions that may affect the pharmacokinetics of verapamil.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
