Indications
Valclan 500 mg/125 mg is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is commonly used for respiratory tract infections, middle ear infections, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, as well as skin and soft tissue infections. Its combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid broadens the spectrum of activity against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, which improves treatment efficacy in difficult infections.
Composition
Each Valclan tablet contains 500 mg of amoxicillin and 125 mg of clavulanic acid.
Contraindications
Valclan is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergy to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, or any other component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in individuals who have experienced severe allergic reactions to penicillin-family antibiotics and in those with a history of jaundice or hepatic dysfunction related to previous use of this medication.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver disease, renal insufficiency, or a history of colitis. It is important to monitor renal and hepatic function during treatment. In case of severe or persistent diarrhea, the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis should be considered.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
