Indications
Uvega Otic Drops is indicated for the treatment of various otologic conditions, including otitis externa and otitis media. Lidocaine, its active component, acts as a local anesthetic, providing relief from pain and discomfort associated with these conditions. It is especially useful in cases where rapid intervention is required for ear pain control, as well as in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving the ear canal. Additionally, it can be used for desensitization in patients who need to undergo examinations or treatments in the otologic region.
Composition
Each 100 ml of Uvega Otic Drops contains:
- Lidocaine: 2 g
- Excipients: q.s.
Contraindications
Uvega Otic Drops should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to lidocaine or other local anesthetics. It is contraindicated in cases of active ear infection, as well as in patients with a perforated eardrum, as application under these conditions can lead to severe complications.
Precautions
This medication should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular diseases, as lidocaine can cause adverse effects on the cardiovascular system. Likewise, it should be administered with care in patients with liver disorders, as the metabolism of lidocaine may be affected. It is important to avoid prolonged use and to follow the healthcare professional's instructions regarding the frequency and duration of treatment.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
