Indications

Unival Suspension is indicated for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, as well as for the prevention of their recurrence. Its mechanism of action is based on the formation of a gel that coats the gastric mucosa, protecting it from the harmful effects of gastric acid and promoting the healing of lesions. It is also used in the treatment of reflux esophagitis and in the management of acute and chronic gastritis. Additionally, it may be useful as part of a therapeutic regimen for patients requiring gastrointestinal mucosal protection during the administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Composition

Each 5 ml of Unival Suspension contains 1 g of sucralfate as the active ingredient. It also contains necessary excipients for its formulation and stability, which are: sorbitol, glycerin, and others that facilitate the administration of the product.

Contraindications

Unival Suspension is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to sucralfate or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency, as there may be a risk of drug accumulation. Likewise, it should not be administered simultaneously with other medications that require an acidic pH for proper absorption.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of intestinal obstruction or those who have difficulty swallowing. If adverse reactions occur, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. It is advisable to monitor renal function in patients requiring prolonged treatment.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
